Why Should We Vote?

About the Event

Local, state, and federal governments make decisions that impact every day of our lives yet in the last presidential election year, only 64.20% of eligible voters in Ohio voted.  In 2018, a non-presidential election year, only 50.90% of eligible Ohioans voted.

Why do so many people choose not to exercise their right to vote?  Does your vote really matter? Do you believe voting is important, but don’t know how to convince family and friends to vote?  Why is it important to vote for candidates and issues at the state and local levels?  How can you learn more about the candidates and issues on the ballot?

Bridget McDaniel from the League of Women Voters will provide information about the importance of voting and why every vote matters.
